20/05/2006 - Op Shop officially opened by Judy Hopwood MLA
The new Berowra Lions Club Op Shop was officially opened by Judy Hopwood, MLA and Member for Hornsby, on Saturday 20th May 2006 at 11.00 am. A big crowd was on hand to participate in the celebration and to sample in one of famous sausage sandwiches. Come along and check out the new shop and maybe find a bargain or two You’ll find us down-stairs at The Berowra Marketplace Shopping Centre at the rear of the underground car park or you can park outside the shop in Kita Road.

The shop will stock a range of quality second-hand clothing, linen, toys, books and knick-knacks and very reasonable prices and all money raised through these sales will be turned back into community projects.

This shop is a community service project managed by the Lions Club of Berowra for the benefit of the Berowra District and it will be staffed entirely by volunteers. The hours of operation will be 10.00 am to 1.00 pm, Monday to Saturday

We are seeking donations of quality, saleable second-hand clothing, linen, toys, books and knick-knacks so please do not use this outlet as your free waste-disposal service – it costs us money to pay for rubbish removal and this reduces the funds we have available for future community projects. We are unable to stock any furniture, electricals or large house-hold items.

As mentioned in a previous news release, we have re-vamped the garden area near the downstairs shops at Marketplace. Our thanks to Ted Cook from the Berowra Garden Club for his generous donation of plants. This was a service project by our club to improve and tidy up the shopping precinct.. Please help us to keep it tidy by placing all rubbish in the bins provided.
